example: When I went to the coat closet I was perplexed to see that my coat not hanging where I remembering leaving it.
Anxiety
anxious: a state of feeling nervous and worried about something usually something that has not happened yet.
example: I felt anxious just before I opened my report card and saw that I did just fine in all the subjects.
outcome: a result of something that is said or done.
example: I was not surprised that the outcome of eating all the cookies was a stomachache.
apprehensive: to worry that something bad will happen although it has not yet happened.
example: I was apprehensive to open my report card because I thought I got a bad grade on math.
example: I tried to allay my sisters fears that she would not remember the dance steps in her ballet recite.
optimistic: to feel hopeful and believe that things will turn out to be good or favorable.
Example: When it was my turn at bat, I felt optimistic that I would get on base.
